Dying an ikat warp

I was really interested in ikat dying, I have never done it before and wanted to experiment together with my patterns to see how they both work together on my samples.
I think that some of the samples I had done have worked better than others. The first couple of samples I had ikat on and I did some patterns over the top. i think this looked really busy and it looked like I had spit something on it. but on some of the other samples I had just woven a plain blue sample so I could sew over the top once off the loom.
I have been experimenting with wool and after taking those samples off the loom I was looking at where my project was going and I think that it would be better to start to experiment with thinner yarn like a silk. As my final piece is going to be something to do with interiors and my project is about modern architecture perhaps trying something more light and gentle would work better in a modern space.
I experimented with wire in the weft to represent the shine from the steel on the buildings. I really like the outcome of these samples, how they hang and they do look more modern and more suited to a modern interior.
