New countermarch samples

With my first project finished for this year I have to now begin my final major project (fmp). I have decided to carry on research and looking into modern architecture. I now focusing more on the technique used when weaving, I am interested in how the colours interact with each other when woven and the different patterns I can create.

I have just cut off my 2nd warp for this term on the countermarch. this is my first all red cotton warp.

When dying the red for the warp I was very wary that is was going to be too bright and that it would have no connection to my project. when I started to add the blue into my first sample I was suprised at how much more subtle it looked.

I have moved onto using a countermarch because as I am using a tapestry method It much easier to use my feet to control lifting the warp threads then I can use my hands to control when the weft yarn goes. I really like using a countermarch I used one in my 2nd year project so I am used to how it works.I really like the sample made on this warp. the red is vibrant and when the blues are added it creates a shine that I really like.I started to really enjoy weaving with these mix of colours and I think they are more interesting than my previous samples which were blue weft and warp.
